people of the Jewish community of Sherbrooke
With the help of Corinne Mitchell we have been able to identify almost all of the Jewish inhabitants of Sherbrooke Quebec from it’s first Jewish family, the Hart’s, until the end of the 20th century. We have documented over 1000 people by name and, for most, the dates that they lived there. This includes almost all of the Jews who ever lived in Sherbrooke from 1860 until about 1990. We also have also tried to include a generation of their ancestors and descendants. We have placed this information on ancestry.com under the heading of the “The Sherbrooke Jewish Community of Sherbrooke Quebec: 1860-1990” and we invite you to visit to and add to our site.
